Freewheel relies on the support of our volunteers! We have a variety of opportunities for you to assist us.

Volunteer at the Shop
Disassembling damaged bikes helps us salvage usable parts off of donated bikes — and it helps you build an understanding of how a bike works. It’s a great place to start with learning about bike mechanics, and it’s a lot of fun!
We have a regular need for more experienced volunteers to fix up our donated bikes. We sell refurbished donated bikes to fund our operations.
When you’re feeling confident in your mechanical skills, maybe you’d like to teach? We’re always looking for helpers for our open shops, our weekly classes, and our one-off or limited-length courses on more specialized topics. We’re happy to work with your availability.
